Gender Reveal: Hippie or Rockstar?
I believe in a thing called love -
just listen to the rhythm of my heart
My middle sister Annie is having a BABY! So that means I get to be an auntie again :D Yay!!! With that being said, of COURSE we had to document her gender reveal party. And you’re probably wondering, how did we come up with this theme? WELL, I’M GONNA TELL YOUUUUU!
My sister and her husband Richie are pure emo kids at heart and love a good rock song. They both have been in bands before they met each other, can write music, and they can both play guitar. They’re essentially badasses and I wish I had that talent, lol. My love of emo and rock music comes from her, which I am so proud of.
With that being said, we were talking on the phone one day about potential themes and she had this idea of watermelons and another fruit; I honestly can’t remember and to me it just didn’t feel like them or their vibe. I mean, they came out to “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” when they were introduced on their wedding day. lol Like how fucking awesome is that?! I kept thinking and my one thought was “Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks” and then there it was born: Hippie or Rockstar. HOW. FUCKING. CUTE!
To cast your vote for a boy, you’d come dressed as a rockstar, and to cast your vote as a girl, you’d come dressed as a hippie! Everyone invited to their party dressed their best (my parents especially, lol!) all to find out that my sister is having a boy! And that was the end of it. If you’re stuck on a theme and can’t think for the life of you what you’d like to have as your theme for your gender reveal party, just be yourself and do what’s best for you! There’s no right or wrong way to reveal your baby’s gender - you do you, booboo!
I can’t wait to do her maternity session tomorrow and can’t wait to see the little one arrive! Congratulations to my sister and my brother-in-law!
Of course, with that being said, I’d LOVE to photograph your gender reveal party. Hit a sister up to capture your moment!
xoxo,
Dana
