How to save on florals pt. 1

Save those dolla-dolla bills, y’all!

I think we’re all well-aware on how expensive weddings can be, and florals can be a HUGE hit to your wedding expenses (I saw one girl on a Facebook bridal page was quoted $20k! LIKE WTF?!) So I’ve come up with something that might help!

Typically, your florist is going to buy glass for you (you take it with you at the end of the night), or you might have the option to rent. Both options are great to have, but buying your own glass can save you a good couple hundred dollars, if not more, depending on how elaborate you want to go with your design for your wedding. You can search your local Goodwill (mismatched glass is so frickin’ trendy right now), local wedding Facebook pages, or even the Dollar Tree (trust me when I say, no one’s going to know the difference)! And then when you’re done with it, you can resell it! Not only can you use this glass for florals, but you can also use it for string lights, or floating candles. There’s no rules for weddings anymore and if you’ve got the time and patience to achieve a certain look, I’d say it’s worth it to DIY. Just make sure to always check the glass that there’s no cracks, or broken bottoms before purchasing. (AND! If you’ve bought your glass before your bridal shower, you can also use the glass for that, too! It’s a win-win!)

But if you’re truly going to do this, make sure with your florist if there’s an option to bring your own glass and if so, when you should bring it by their store so they can arrange the centerpieces for you. And don’t be afraid to ask questions! They get asked all the time about what they’re going to do when they arrange your centerpieces, aisle pieces, etc. We all know weddings ain’t cheap and if this is one way to stay under your budget, then there’s nothing wrong with that. Take it from a 2023 bride who bought all her own glass from Goodwill; I saved over $250!

I hope this helps :)

xoxo, Dana
